Austrian beer pranks, Janken, the Great, Hermann Tilke exception? All that and much more was addressed by our brave duuudes during today's press conference. Unfortunately Losel's driver Dave was absent today after he collapsed this morning.

Austria A-1 Ring - PRESS CONFERENCE

Driver Shaka (Williams FD Team)

(Alain Connecting - The French Toast) - Welcome to Austria, Shaka, being reining champion, but starting with yet another team, the Williams team, what are your expectations for this season opener ? Will we see a difuser/confuser war ?
Shaka : Thanks Alain, it's great to be back here. We had a long, long winter without much testing. I wasn't expecting to be here at all, couldn't find a new team until the 11th hour, but thankfully Frank wanted to join the series and provided me a hell of a car! I expect to finish this first 2 races the same way I finished last season, on a high!

(Sugar Coats - Les Bien) Straight forward question Shaka, new car, new team, any problems at all inside like the one in Lotus?
Shaka : It's not only a new team, it's an impressive, superbly organized team! I have nothing to complain at all! I even saw a leaked picture of the car they're willing to provide me for second race, it was a nice surprise to see them paying tribute to my previous victories, even if it was from another team. Lotus was chaotic, first we dumped our Team Principal, then the Soviet strike turned it all upside down, I was racing under too much pressure and couldn't deliver the kind of results I wanted to. Now I'm happy, I'm more focused and will do my best to win.

(Don Load - racingwebsite.something) - Do you realize that racing at A-1 Ring, in it's current incarnation is a big breach on the FD rules, as Wikipedia states, the current A-1 was designed by Hermann Tilke, what are your thoughts on that ?
Shaka : As far as I'm concerned there was a special, undisclosed agreement that allows this track as it was designed by a rogue, junior trainee, so it's ok. On top of that, we already raced on that track and gave our thumbs up, so I don't want to commenta nything else.

(Pete Tit - Careless Rwiting) Two time Mario World Champion now, Who do you think is your main rival for this season?
Shaka : Myself! No, seriously, I expect tib to be my main rival on the first few races, and newcomer Pippo should be up there within a few weeks. Let's not forget Dave, who is at the hospital and couldn't be here at the press conference, he scored an emotional win at Monza last season in his first or second race at the series.

Driver Tib (Scuderia Libra)

(Kent Yrrell - Bankrupt Express) tib, welcome to Austria! You won a race last time you were there driving a beautiful Gilles Villeneuve tribute Ferrari 360GTC, the very same you are expected to drive tonight. Does that ring you a bell?
Tib : Thanks for the welcome, but no, it doesn't ring a bell, at least, not as good as this little button. (presses the bell button on the door). Also, the scuderia won't be running the GV tribute 360 GTC, we bought and modified another 360, so we will be running our very own scarlet purple striped 360. And hopefully we will score a win with it, too.

(Jay Lego - Nightly Mail) Tib, Shaka fancies you are one of his closest, or perhaps his closest rival this year. Your thoughts on that and on the championship?
Tib : Well, i think we have a strong package this year, and after almost winning the driver's championship last season, this is our season. We already managed to win the constructor's championship, and the team is even more focused this year. So yeah, i hope we can be the fastest on track.

(Dan Hibiki - GotK.Od) Sorry for the delay, I was beating my father's murderer. smiles So, tib, ready to show them what you learned from the years you trained under my saikyou style?
Tib : I don't like delays that much, sorry, i'm more of a dist + phaser guy myself. Trained what ? under who ? Wait a minute.. this is a prank ? Is that the Stiegl guys again ? You guys owe me a case of Stiegl beer.. you punks.. hehe

(Elizabeth Horswoggle - Irish Times) Austria has a very short run up to the first corner and a very tight apex with little to work with unless you go off track. First lap incidents?
Tib : It's a real possibility, we had that on Season 1, last time we raced there, my brakes locked up, and i spun on the 1st lap of the sprint race. So, it's possibility, especially with all those (4) cars sharing the turn. Hopefully everybody but me, will crashes, and i will be the winner.

Driver Pippo (Mapua Racing Team)

(Janken, The Great - AKMWNews) Pip, welcome to FormulaDuude. I personally granted your licence after my 3 henchmen approved your project. Do you have anything to say regarding the opportunity to race at the best motor racing series on this World?
Pippo : Thank you Janken, The Great. Personally, I cant express how grateful I am to be racing in the best racing series in the world. Its a steep learning curve and I hope with time, I can be up to championship winning level.

(A.J oker - Gotham Times) - Welcome to FD, Pippo. What are your expectations in terms of performance for this 1st round ? Will we see Mapua doing "a Brawn" ?
Pippo : What you mean selling the team to Mercedes? No seriously, the team's target for this round is to get to the end of both races, hopefully score a podium if we are a bit lucky.

(Tyrna Tunner - Daily Onstage) - Your thoughts on A1 Ring, Porsche RSR and your rivals for this race.
Pippo : its a racetrack that has alot of straights which means the porsche is probably going to be a bit behind the ferraris. Not to mention the world class drivers in them. so, we'll see...

(Tim E. ToGo - Faraway Post) - Last question of the day, Pippo, Forecast says that there is a 35% of a wet race, do you think this can even up the speed of cars and maybe we will see a triumphant Mapua ?
Pippo : Its always tricky in the rain for anybody but if it does rain, I do think that the smaller, nimbler porsche will have closed the gap up a little bit. But as far as a win is concerned, its still up in the air..
