A Very Dry Broadcast: Biagi Wins Pergusa While We Feel Absolutely Normal

October 09, 2026 11:00am

An incredibly flat and deadpan FDTV broadcast of the Autodromo di Pergusa race, featuring Zeca Pagodinho and some very normal racing results.

*The broadcast begins with a low hum and the smell of stale cold cuts.*

GALVÃO: Welcome to the Autodromo di Pergusa. It is hot. My heart is functioning within normal medical parameters. Haja coração. Or do not. It is your choice.

ZECA PAGODINHO (Co-Commentator): I do not know what I am doing here, Galvão. A man in a suit gave me a crab pastel and a cold Brahma and told me to watch the yellow cars. Is that a yellow car?

GALVÃO: No, Zeca. That is Fernando Horta in the #01 Lister Storm. He ran twenty laps. He finished fourth. It is a result. It exists. Philipp Peter finished just ahead of him in third. This is called a podium. We must respect the podium.

ZECA PAGODINHO (Co-Commentator): Good for them. I prefer a cold beer. If you finish fourth, do you still get to play the tambourine?

GALVÃO: No, Zeca. You get nothing but points.

GALVÃO: Up front, Thomas Biagi has won the race in the #23 BMS Scuderia Italia Ferrari 550 Maranello. He took thirty-two minutes and twenty-six seconds. Lilian Bryner was twenty-two seconds behind him in second place. They are all very fast.

[COMMERCIAL BREAK: Are you tired of wet popcorn? Try Yoki. It is dry. Like the Sicilian asphalt. Like this broadcast.]

GALVÃO: We are back. Rubens Barrichello has retired on lap four. His Ferrari simply stopped. This is not a surprise. It is a tradition.

ZECA PAGODINHO (Co-Commentator): If you do not drive, you do not spill your drink. Rubens is a wise man.

GALVÃO: Andrea Piccini finished fifth, right behind Horta. They are both in Lister Storms. They did not crash. Goodbye from Sicily.

Ps. Jens, we left the garage keys under the cooler. Please do not lose them again.
