2007 Audi Sport North America issued a press release this morning that reads as follows:
The team wishes to address the events of the recent event at Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna in Londrina, where the #01 Audi R10 of Fernando Horta completed two laps before incurring a disqualification while Lucas Luhr claimed top class honours in the #02 machine across three completed laps. Contrary to speculation circulating within the paddock regarding telemetry anomalies and radio transmissions from Crew Chief Alan Donatellofson—who was heard on the open channel asking if the pit wall should start packing up the motorhomes during lap two—the team maintains that its participation adhered strictly to all applicable regulatory frameworks.
We acknowledge the official classification showing Chris McMurry second in the Creation CA06/H and Oliver Gavin third in the Corvette C6-R, all competitors having been halted by circumstances prior to distance completion. The management categorically rejects any suggestion that the #01 entry's exclusion was related to unauthorized modifications, unverified fuel additives, or the driver attempting to negotiate shortcut terms with local wildlife on the circuit perimeter. Further internal review will be conducted behind closed doors once the telemetry logs are successfully retrieved from beneath the pit lane refrigerator.
