Lightning McQueen secured a commanding GT1 victory at the Masaryk Circuit, completing 19 laps in 38:06.188 behind the wheel of the #95 Lamborghini Murcielago R-GT. The animated victor led a pack of roaring Italian-built machines across the Czech Republic tarmac, leaving a 0.847-second gap to Mike Weide in second place. Meanwhile, pole-pace setter Felipe Massa dominated the early running in the #06 Ferrari 550 Maranello before a clutch failure on lap 10 ended his afternoon prematurely.

Further down the order, Fernando Horta put in a steady shift for Gibson-Sega Racing, steering the #12 Ferrari 360 Modena to seventh overall and second in the GT2 class. Horta completed all 19 laps, crossing the line in 0:40:07.362 with a best lap of 2:01.628, safely ahead of the chasing Porsche pack led by Richard Kaye.

Fernando Horta (Gibson-Sega Racing driver): We survived, which in this championship is basically winning a lottery while being struck by lightning. The car stayed on the asphalt, and that is more than half the grid managed.

The race was marked by high attrition at the sharp end, as Mika Salo's Maserati MC12 became an early casualty on lap 4 following a collision. Up front, Starraider claimed the GT2 class victory and fifth overall in the #04 Nissan 350Z, completing the full distance in 38:54.829. The victory margins remained tight across the GT1 podium, with JJ Yealey and Jimmy Johnson rounding out the top four behind Weide.
