Long Beach Attrition: Wilco Takes Victory in Three-Lap Collapse

October 29, 2026 04:44pm

Roger Wilco wins Round 18 at Long Beach after surviving three laps in a race where no driver reached the checkered flag.

What happens when an entire FormulaDuude grid collapses before completing four laps? The 18th round of Season 03 at the Grand Prix of Long Beach provided the answer, delivering a race of absolute attrition where staying on track for less than ten kilometres was enough to take maximum points.

Gecko91 was the first contender eliminated, failing to clear lap zero in her TF1S Racing Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT. Fernando Horta fared marginally better in the Williams Grand Prix Ferrari 550 Maranello, setting a best lap of 1:30.029 before retiring on lap two. That left Roger Wilco as the last man standing in his Scuderia Libra Ferrari 575 GTC. Wilco laid down a 1:20.278 before his car also failed on lap three, granting him victory as the driver who completed the most distance.

Guest track marshal Inspector Gadget struggled to handle the stationary machinery lining the street course.

Inspector Gadget (Track Marshal): Go-Go-Gadget recovery truck! Wait, we are going to need two more.

Roger Wilco (Scuderia Libra): A win is a win, even if none of us actually finished.

The result yields nine points for Wilco, pushing his championship total to 173 points and extending his lead over Horta (154 points) to 19 points with only the Sebring finale left on the calendar.

Ps. Rodrigo, please bring a tow truck to the next round.
