[PADDOCK PRESS WIRE / THE LONDRINA LEDGER] — Lucas Luhr delivered a flawless performance at the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna, driving the #02 Audi Sport North America Audi R10 to overall victory across 25 laps with a total time of 30:53.488.
Bryan Herta took LMP2 class honours and second overall in the #26 Andretti Green Acura ARX-01, crossing the line 27.634 seconds behind Luhr. The fight for third overall provided the afternoon’s closest finish, with Jon Field (#37 Creation CA06/H) edging out Stuart Moseley (#21 Radical SR9) by a mere 0.059 seconds at the line.
In GT2, David Robertson steered the #53 Robertson Racing Panoz GTLM to class victory, finishing a full lap ahead of Wolf Henzler’s Porsche 997 GT3.
The race’s primary statistical curiosity belonged to Fernando Horta in the #01 Audi R10. Horta recorded the fastest lap of the entire 25-lap event—a 1:11.278—on lap one, immediately before colliding with a tyre wall and retiring on the spot.
Lucas Luhr (Winner): "The Audi was remarkably stable, though dodging flying bodywork on lap one required focus."
Fernando Horta (#01 Audi): "I came, I set the lap record, I destroyed the car. Maximum efficiency."
Chief telemetry analyst Prodigal Sorcerer verified the timing data by tapping himself to deal one point of direct damage to the official monitor.
COUNCIL NOTE (Motion 20070504/09): The Drivers Council formally validates Horta’s 1:11.278 lap time, ruling that setting the fastest lap of a race while simultaneously triggering terminal vehicle failure violates no existing sporting code.
