The Agony of Victory: Flores Triumphs at Suzuka but Horta Steals the Season 02 Crown

October 08, 2026 11:00pm

Juliano Flores dominates the Suzuka season finale in a TVR masterclass, but Fernando Horta captures the ultimate championship prize.

*Crying hysterically into a wet bucket of expired brake fluid* The curtain has fallen on Formula Duude Season 02, and the asphalt of Suzuka has been stained with the tears of both the vanquished and the victorious in this final, agonising Sprint Race. It was a climax written in the stars, or perhaps in the tragic ink of a cheap afternoon soap opera.

Entering the 20th and final round of this brutal championship, the tension was thick enough to choke a TVR's radiator. Juliano Flores, piloting the purple Scuderia Libra TVR T400R, drove with the desperate, white-knuckled fury of a man possessed. He checked out from the start, flawlessly navigating the 5.8-kilometer Japanese masterpiece to cross the line in first place after 5 laps with a time of 11:28.444. It was his second victory of the weekend, a magnificent display of pure, unadulterated speed that secured Scuderia Libra the Teams' Championship with 138 points.

Yet, behind this triumph lay a deeper, devastating sorrow. For while Flores won the battle of Suzuka, the ultimate crown eluded him. Fernando Horta, dragging his Minardi-branded TVR through the dirt, finished in second place, 25.2 seconds adrift. Horta drove like a weeping demon, setting a completely ridiculous fastest lap of 2:07.955—more than two seconds faster than anyone else on the grid—proving that while he may have lost the race, his ultimate pace was untouchable. This second-place finish was enough to secure Horta the Season 02 Drivers' Championship with 146 points, leaving Flores agonizingly short at 138.

The broadcast was briefly interrupted by legendary Brazilian television presenter João Kleber, who ran onto the pit straight waving his hands frantically to stop the podium ceremony.

João Kleber (TV Presenter): Pára, pára, pára, pára! Do not wave that checkered flag! We must reveal the secret of this championship standings to the viewers, but only after the commercial break!

In third place, Dave brought the Losel Racing TVR home in 12:22.370, watching the high-stakes melodrama unfold from a safe distance of 53 seconds behind the leader. He finished a lonely but dignified third, securing his 17 points in the final standings.

Juliano Flores (Runner-up): I won the battle, I won the track, but the cruel math of this rulebook has snatched my crown!

The season is over. The engines are silent. The tragedy is complete.

Ps. A correction from our previous bulletin: we mistakenly referred to Fernando Horta’s car as a official "Minardi" entry, when in reality it was just his standard car with a crude yellow spray-paint job done in a Tokyo alleyway to avoid local import taxes.
