Dr. Armin Zumtobel clinches victory at Wanneroo Raceway while Fernando Horta's DeTomaso Pantera retires after four laps.

*The garage radio is humming with the sweet sound of absolute, unadulterated Austrian dominance and excessive champagne showers*

Dr. Armin Zumtobel put on a masterclass at Wanneroo Raceway today, piloting his #30 Porsche 906 to a stunning victory across 29 laps of pure, high-speed Australian sunshine! While the rest of the grid scrambled to figure out which way was up, Zumtobel simply drove off into the horizon, clocking a blistering 1:02.087 best lap and leaving Mikael Gustavsson and Pekka Nyström to scrap over the remaining podium crumbs. Absolutely glorious scenes in the Zumtobel camp! We are untouchable! We are geniuses! Someone fetch more sparkling wine!

Meanwhile, down at the other end of the pit lane, Team TF1S Gulf endured a rather shorter afternoon. Fernando Horta managed precisely four laps in the #12 DeTomaso Pantera before the machine decided that four was quite enough thank you very much, retiring into an early, mysterious retirement while everyone else got on with the actual racing.

Crew Chief Alan Donatellofson (#30 crew): Oh, look at that. Four laps. Truly, a tactical blueprint for the ages. We were wondering if he forgot his wallet in the paddock or if the car simply smelled the local wildlife and panicked. Brilliant stuff, really keeps the marshals awake.

Ps. Lost and found in the paddock: one slightly singed Brazilian racing suit, a half-eaten meat pie, and a set of keys to a DeTomaso Pantera that clearly refused to cooperate. If claimed, please see Alan, who will charge you a small administrative fee in sarcastic remarks.
