Ninja Drivers on Track

The first round of the FD North American tour, was probably the most exciting racing all season long. The teams got around the Road America track, which is located somewhere in the USA, which is a country that named themselves after the continent, just to confuse the rest of the world.

Good weather, dry, sunny and hot, and the our brave duudes went on to Practice. After learning the track (at least part of it) they went on to Qualify.

Shaka stormed into his first pole in a (long) while. Followed by tib and Mansell. The MLT duo was lacking that extra bit of pace.

Right from the start, tib jumped ahead of Shaka, taking the inside line in T1 and exiting it in front. Then it was a matter of cat-and-mouse with them, Shaka was noticeable faster, but failed to make the move. They traded paints, touched doors and even threw away some parts in a very exciting first laps. On Lap 6, tib was a bit too optimistic and missed the braking zone on the same T1 he managed to pass Shaka before. It was his place to lose now.

Meanwhile, Mansell had paid his DT and was about 30s behind the battling south-americans.  Now that they paid their DT's, he was slightly ahead of tib and behind Shaka.

And those were the finishing order. Pole and win for Shaka, followed by the scarlets of Mansell and Tib.

Sprint race started with tib on pole. After being called into the stewards room after his aggressive driving on the first race. This time tib was a bit more cautious. He even lost his first place of the line.

On the end of Lap 1, he let Mansell through, since his teammate was "FASTER THAN HIM, HE DID CONFIRMED THAT HE UNDERSTOOD THE MESSAGE", So it was Shaka, Mansell and tib.

On the harpin on the backstraight, Shaka spun, and got caught by tib, who waited for him. It was Mansell 8s ahead of tib,about 1s ahead of Shaka. Thus, the cat and mouse of tib and Shaka had the second round. This time however, it was the brazilian time to make a mistake, miss a braking zone. Meanwhile, Mansell was bored out of his mustache 20s ahead of everything and everyone.

And that was the end of this story.

Sprint race was : Mansell, tib and Shaka, once again the MLT duo taking major points for the sole Camel.

Next week, the 2nd concert of the NAFD Tour : Laguna Seca (Little Dry Lake), which promises to be even better than Road into America.
