"Zis track is an absolute disaster for anyone without German engineering and a proper set of gears, caspita!" grumbled Dr. Ivo Eggman Robotnik as the field prepared for ten frantic laps around the Hockenheimring.
When the lights went out, the 16-car grid scrambled into turn one with absolute chaos. Lucas Luhr drove a masterclass in the #02 Audi R10, steadily carving his way to the front by lap four and ultimately crossing the line to take overall victory and LMP1 honors in 0:18:37.229. Eric Van de Poele brought his #12 Ferrari 333 SP home in second place, just 7.380 seconds adrift, while Rinaldo Capello rounded out the podium in third aboard the #01 Audi R10.
Further down the order, Fernando Horta's afternoon came to an abrupt halt after completing only 3 laps in the #18 Ferrari 333 SP, leaving our brave duudes wondering what could have been.
Dr. Ivo Eggman Robotnik (#02 Tyrant Motorsport engineer): "Ho ho ho! Ze Audi is ze ultimate machine! Ze other drivers rrrreally need to try harder!"
Lucas Luhr (#02 Audi Sport driver): "Car felt brilliant from lap one. We managed the tyres and brought it home."
Radio transcript (Lap 2):
Dr. Ivo Eggman Robotnik (#02 crew): "Zis is too easy! Look at zem go backwards! Ha ha!"
Lucas Luhr (#02 driver): "Just keep me informed of the gaps, Ivo."
Dr. Ivo Eggman Robotnik (#02 crew): "Affirrrrmative! Go faster!"
Council Note:
The Supreme Panel noted that position 6 is entirely absent from the final classification sheet, though no one bothered to check why before heading to the cafeteria.
