Race report: Castle Combe Gossip: Davinci’s Shock Win and the Case of the Missing Italian!
Davinci was already standing on the top step of the Castle Combe podium popping cheap, lukewarm prosecco into the Wiltshire drizzle while the rest of us stood around the pit lane whispering like scandalized old aunties. How on earth did the man who usually spends half the drivers' meeting apologizing for his braking points just walk away with a forty-nine second victory? But let us rewind twenty minutes, because the paddock drama was already at absolute boiling point long before the green flag ever dropped. Scuderia Libra’s pit garage sat completely empty—Roger Wilco didn’t even show up! The juicy paddock rumor is that President Luca di Guevara locked him in a Monte Carlo casino after Melbourne, leaving the championship wide open for Williams Engineering to capitalise!
Fernando Horta (Driver, #01 Williams Ferrari): Look, I am happy for Davinci, really, I am—even if seeing his Ferrari 360 GTC pull away feels wrong on every spiritual level! But let’s discuss the wild physics of what happened out there today. Davinci snatches pole position out of nowhere with a 0:56.576, which immediately had everyone checking if Losel Racing smuggled some unauthorized turbochargers into the pit building. Then the race starts and he just disappears into the distance for twenty-one laps straight! I was pushing like a madman, even setting the absolute fastest lap of the race with a 0:56.204 on lap 12, but my rear tires were screaming in Portuguese through the fast sweepers. Then Goofy’s Porsche suffered a total suspension collapse on lap 5, snapping like a dry pretzel and causing enough yellow-flag chaos to ruin my pit entry rhythm. By the time I had the #01 car settled back down, Davinci was already three postcodes ahead, cruising like he had a hot roast dinner waiting for him in London. Still, with Wilco pulling a complete magician act and vanishing into thin air, taking second place bumps my championship lead to 66 points, and Williams is now dead even with Scuderia Libra at 44 points in the team standings! *laughs* Not a bad day’s work for a completely insane afternoon in England.
Shivan Dragon (Lead Race Engineer, +5/+0 until the end of this post): GRAUUUURRRR! Davinci’s engine tapped two red mana and sprinted away, but we burned Scuderia Libra’s garage to the ground anyway! If Wilco dares to show his face at the next round, I am casting Terror directly on his pit strategy!
Sengir Vampire (Tire Whisperer & Strategy Handler): (+3/+3 whenever a backmarker DNFs) Goofy’s suspension sacrificed itself on lap 5 and fed our telemetry data so beautifully. Mmm, delicious carbon fiber debris!
Ps. Jens, where are you man?! If you happen to find Wilco wandering around the service park, tell him we kept his championship trophy warm for him!

Lap by Lap
Each lap's notable moments, quiet stretches grouped; tap a row for the full order with lap times and gaps. The logs don't record pit stops: they're worked out from lap times (here a stop cost about 56 s, most of them on laps 8–10), so a spin that costs as much time can read as one.
