Race report: Anderstorp Inquest: Minardi TVR Disqualified Before Completing Single Lap

Fernando Horta was disqualified from the Anderstorp Raceway session in his #01 Minardi TVR T400R before registering a single completed lap.

Rumours had been swirling through the Swedish paddock long before the yellow TVR T400R even rolled off the transporter. Word among the mechanics in the adjacent garages suggested that Minardi brought the British sports car across the Baltic Sea without paying the proper customs tariffs on its exhaust headers, though team insiders insisted the issue was purely administrative. Whatever the official paperwork stated, Horta’s afternoon in Scandinavian territory concluded almost as soon as it began, leaving the timing monitors completely blank across every single sector.

According to trackside observers, the team’s newly appointed Chief Mechanic, Shivan Dragon, was spotted frantically tapping red mana in the garage prior to the green light in a desperate attempt to give the TVR +1/+0 flying power before the pit exit opened. Unfortunately for Minardi, the race directors at Anderstorp operate strictly under instant-speed counterspell rules, rendering the entire setup invalid before Horta could even engage first gear. The resulting technical black flag was handed down with immediate effect, wiping the #01 car off the active classification sheet before it could set an installation time.

Shivan Dragon (Minardi Chief Mechanic): *GRAUURRRR!* The race stewards obviously play Blue control and lack the pure untamed spirit of direct damage!

Paddock gossip quickly turned to whether Minardi had failed to pay the necessary upkeep costs on the TVR's British V8 engine during the untap phase. With zero laps recorded and a total race time marked simply as DQ, Horta’s Swedish campaign ended with maximum drama and minimum track time, adding another confusing chapter to an already turbulent season of GTR2 outings.

Fernando Horta (Driver): I put my helmet on, turned the key, and suddenly three marshals were waving black flags like they were casting a Board Wipe.

The immediate aftermath saw a hasty, tense exchange in the media center between team personnel and the gathered press corps.

Anita Brake (Paddock Whispers): Fernando, is it true you were disqualified for attempting to tap your mechanics for extra horsepower before the pit lane opened?

Fernando Horta: That is an absolute lie, Anita. Shivan Dragon was merely adjusting the air-to-fuel ratio on the intake manifold, though I admit the flying ability would have helped us clear the tire barriers into Turn 1.

Otto Bahn (The Daily Apex): Did Minardi fail to declare the TVR’s modified exhaust assembly to Swedish customs before crossing the border?

Shivan Dragon: We declare nothing! We pay four Red Mana, attack for five, and if the marshals do not like it, they can take six damage straight to their life total!

Ben Hurr (Spun Out Magazine): Will the team appeal this decision to the council or simply sacrifice the car to draw two fresh tires for the next round?

Fernando Horta: We are keeping our options open, but if the upkeep cost involves another drive-through penalty, we might just concede this game and mulligan to six in Japan.

With no times logged and no points awarded, the Minardi squad quietly packed up their toolboxes and departed Anderstorp under the cover of dusk, leaving the Scandinavian tarmac untouched and the paddock chatter louder than ever.

Ps. Rodrigo, where are you?! Did you get trapped in the graveyard phase or are you still trying to figure out Swedish customs tariffs?
