Pippo okay after 2 big crashes
Mapua Racing's lead and only driver, Pippo, barely survived two massive crashes this past weekend. In the feature race, Pippo's rear end got out of line forcing him to lift which then cause the car to dive out of the banked oval at over 290 kph. This then hurtled him across the fence and crashed out at over 400 kph. The car was not completely destroyed so the fledgling team was able to continue for the sprint race. On lap 4 of the race, while in the slip stream of guest Mansell, the Filipino caught a bump of turn 4 leading onto the main straight which made the car flip a million and one times.
His race engineer and former Power Ranger, Tommy Oliver, then got on the radio but heard no response.

He was then airlifted to the hospital via the FD's latest technology and life saving equipment.

This is Pippo's second major crash with the MC12. He also crashed while taking the car for a shakedown in Brno 2 months ago.
